Hanson Sign with Jaguars

Jags Re-sign Hanson for $6.5 Million

P Chris Hanson holds Jaguars career records for gross punting average (43.7 yards) and net punting average (37.3).

March 3, 2004 - ELITE alumnus Chris Hanson has signed a new 5-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars worth $6.5 million, including a $1.3 million signing bonus.

Chris, an NFL Pro Bowler in 2002, is the Jaguars franchise record holder for both gross punting (43.7) and net punting average (37.3). He has been the Jaguars punter since he was claimed off waivers in 2001 and beat out a 5th round draft pick for the punting job.

Chris attended ELITE on March 21, 1999 and signed his first pro contract came on April 23, 1999 when the Browns signed him as an undrafted rookie free-agent. Prior to joining the Jaguars he also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Barcelona in NFL Europe.
