AF2 Signs 500th ELITE Player

June 1, 2004 - In only their fifth season of operation, the teams in af2 have now signed over 500 ELITE players. Close to 70 ELITE players were signed by af2 teams in the past year to bring the five year total to 519 players.

ELITE players are currently on the active rosters of all 25 af2 teams, 135 players in total. The Macon Knights and Quad City Steamwheelers are tied for the most ELITE players with 10 players each.

ELITE Combines have been the exclusive combines for the Arena Football League since 1991 and began serving af2 teams when the league formed in 2000. Af2 was founded by the AFL to bring the game of Arena Football to smaller markets around the country and provided more opportunity for players to play Arena Football.
