ELITE Alumnus Vinatieri Named to Pro Bowl
Vinatieri currently leads the NFL in scoring with 127 points. He has made 96.6% of his fields goals (28 of 29) and 100% (43 of 43) of his extra point attempts. Best known for his Super Bowl heroics, Vinatieri has rightfully earned the label as one of the best clutch kickers in NFL history. He has kicked 15 game-winning field goals in the final minute of the fourth quarter or overtime in eight seasons. Vinatieri kicked a 48 yard FG as time expired in Super Bowl XXXVI to clinch the Patriots 20-17 victory over the heavily favored Rams and then two years later he made a 41 yard kick with four seconds remaining in Super Bowl XXXVIII that gave the Patriots a thrilling 32-29 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Vinatieri attended ELITE Combines in 1995 and began his pro career in NFL Europe before signing as free-agent with the New England Patriots in 1996. |
