ELITE Alumnus Jay Feely Signs with Giants
In his four seasons in Atlanta, Feely scored 436 points, the third-highest total in franchise history. He made 98 of 127 field goal attempts (77.2 percent) and 142 of 144 extra points tries. Last season, Feely connected on 18 of 23 field goal attempts and made all 40 PATs for 94 points. Known for his extremely strong leg, Feely will also help the Giants with their kickoffs. Feely has 44 touchbacks (13.9 percent) on 317 career kickoffs while the Giants have had just eight touchbacks on 279 kickoffs in the last four seasons. Feely attended ELITE Combines in March 1999 and began is career in the Arena Football League with the Florida Bobcats (1999) and Tampa Bay Storm (2000). Feely was signed by the Falcons in 2001 and took over the placekicking job after beating out 5th round draft pick Jake Arians in training camp. He had a very successful rookie campaign, making 29 of 37 field goals (.784) and connecting on all 28 PATs for a total of 115 points. His 29 field goals were second most in Falcons history and the 115 points was third most in a season in team history and led all rookies.
