SC Alumnus Marc Boerigter Re-signs with Chiefs

Marc Boerigter tied the NFL record for longest pass play with a 99-yard TD catch against San Diego in 2002.
April 20, 2005 - The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed ELITE Alumnus WR Marc Boerigter to a one-year contract. A restricted free-agent who had played in 31 games with Kansas City in three seasons, Boerigter has totaled 31 receptions for 578 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2002, Boerigter tied the NFL record for longest pass play with a 99-yard TD catch against San Diego.

After a college career at NAIA Hastings College, Boerigter attended ELITE Combines on March 11, 2000 and recorded the 3rd highest combine score of the year. After requesting his combine video footage, the Calgary Stampeders signed him on May 12, 2000 and he became an immediate impact player with 63 receptions for 1,092 yards and 9 TD's his rookie season.

After two seasons in Calgary, Boerigter made the jump to the NFL by signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2002. The contract included a $175,000 signing bonus, the largest ever given to a CFL player.
