Stephen Austin

Stephen Austin is the founder of ELITE Football Services, LLC (EFS) and the ELITE Football Combines and Clinics. He served as EFS National Director from 1989 until 1999 and is currently serving as Executive Director.

Stephen became involved in pro football as a player agent in 1981. He and his partners, Frank Grant and Dennis Johnson, both former pro stars with the Washington Redskins, represented players in the NFL, USFL and Canadian Football League until 1990. As a player agent, Stephen was a member of the Association of Representatives of Professional Athletes.

During his tenure as EFS National Director, ELITE Combines received exclusive endorsements from the American Football Coaches Association, Canadian Football League and Arena Football League. In 1990 ELITE Football was selected by the National Football League to manage combines in the U.S. , Canada and England for the new World League of American Football.

In 2004, Stephen was named President and Vice Chairman of the National Athletic Testing System (NATS). NATS is a program funded by the NFL and the American Football Coaches Association to foster uniform standards and practices for high school football combines and student-athlete academic support. As NATS President, Stephen works directly with the NFL Youth Football Fund Committee, the AFCA, and state high school coach associations on both combine standardization and educational software applications developed to assist student-athletes in meeting their NCAA academic eligibility requirements. Stephen served as Vice Chairman of the NATS Board of Review with Tyrone Willingham and Grant Teaff, Executive Director of the American Football Coaches Association.

As ELITE’s Executive Director, Stephen secured EFS as the official combine management service to the XFL in 2000 and the All American Football League in 2008. Currently, he oversees the expansion of ELITE’s services including the ELITE National Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and the Wilson-ELITE Football Scouting Clinics.

Outside of football, Stephen has volunteered his time to Head Start, the NBA Youth Basketball Association, and the Juvenile Restitution Program in Washington, D.C. He is also a financial contributor to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Stephen received his BA degree from the University of Cincinnati. At UC Stephen served on the University Planning Commission and as a Resident Advisor on the Dean of Men Staff.

Stephen, his wife Jacqueline and their daughter Lilly reside in Newport Beach, CA.
